THE CHALLENGE

Tell a Star Wars-themed GFX-only intergalactic adventure without relying on scripted voice-over. A voice-over would have been an easy cop-out and I'm not a fan of easy. So I thought "Why not script dialogue using soundbites from The Big Bang Theory?" Sounds easy on paper because of the abundance of Star Wars references in the show but the real challenge was piecing together dialogue in edit that play out like a conversation. After hours of research A.K.A. watching Big Bang Theory episodes - I finally had a page full of useable sound bites. Only then was it time to start cutting the piece.

MY ROLE

• Research Star Wars lore and main characters

• Find and isolate sound bites from Big Bang Theory episodes that can exist without context of the show

• Write script with picture references for the GFX team

• Pace the animatic with soundbites and music to fit within 30-45 seconds

• Slot in approved GFX and re-time audio if needed

• Recording voice guides during approval process

• Turnover audio to final mix

• Upload and deliver final deliverables to Media Shuttle

THE GOAL

To create an epic adventure that otherwise wouldn't exist without the creative process.
